The 57C443 is an Allen-Bradley Scanner Module that comes with an Adaptor Mode. This device has two main functions within the A-B Remote I/O Network. It can be used as either a scanner or as an adapter. Using this card gives the AutoMax controller network the ability to take control of A-B devices. This card is typically placed within an AutoMax Multibus rack.
The 57C443 has the power to provide connectivity between Allen-Bradley devices and a Reliance AutoMax system. When this card is used on a Multibus rack, the 57C443 is required to be on the rack if there is an AutoMax processor being used as a network master. This card has the ability to communicate with up to 32 racks of AB I/O. More than one card can be used by one processor rack.
The 57C443 has several things on its faceplate. It has a FAULT CODE 7-segment LED error code light that lets the user know when there have been issues within the 57C443. The user can read the codes and then look them up in the user’s guide. The faceplate has a green LED labeled OK that lets the user know the system is functioning properly. There is a REMOTE I/O terminal switch.
