The 57C431 has several important things on its faceplate. It has two RS-232 female connection ports. These are labeled PROGRAMMER/PORT B and PORT A. There are also two different types of LED warning lights that are labeled FAULT CODE. One set is green LEDs labeled BAT OK and OK. The other set is a pair of 7-segment style LEDs that are labeled 1st and 2nd. These are warning indicators that will read different error codes when it detects any type of device faults.
This module is typically assigned to a specific AutoMax storage rack. It can be attached to the rack’s backplane using the female card slots. Once it’s plugged in, you can secure it using screws and brackets that are on the rack and module. This module does have limitations on where in the storage rack it can be placed. It can only go in slots 0-4. If there is more than one processor installed on the rack, a processor must take up slot 1 or it has to be left open. Nothing else can go in that slot. Also, if more than one processor is being used, this module can not be placed in slot 0. That slot is reserved for the necessary Common Memory Module.
