Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Adept Fluidyne Pvt. Ltd. (“Adept”), one of the largest electromagnetic flowmeter manufacturers in India. The acquisition process is expected to be completed by the end of March 2024. This acquisition will provide an Indian manufacturing base for Yokogawa Electric’s high-performance electromagnetic flowmeter series products, and enable the company to acquire Adept’s product line, thereby providing a wide range of flowmeter product combinations for the booming Indian market in a more timely manner.
Flowmeters are essential industrial instruments that can measure the flow rates of liquids, gases, and vapors, as well as the density and temperature of certain products. Various measurement techniques can be used based on the measurement purpose, type and conditions of fluid or gas, and measurement conditions. With the “Made in India” initiative proposed by the Indian government, the Indian industrial sector is rapidly expanding, and the demand for flow meters continues to grow.
Adept was founded in 1983 and has a history of manufacturing electromagnetic flow meters for over 30 years. In 2010, it added ultrasonic flow meters to its product lineup. The company has provided over 70000 flow meters for water, wastewater, and other industry sectors, as well as IoT gateways, smart water meters, and flow meter calibration services. In recent years, the company has expanded its sales network across India and won multiple public and private sector orders across the country. It also exports products to customers in over 25 countries.
