The GE IS220PPRAS1A is an Emergency Turbine Protection (PPRA) I/O pack that is part of the GE Speedtronic Mark VIe gas turbine control system. It is a multiple PCB module with multilayer PCB populated with SMD components.

The IS220PPRAS1A provides an independent backup overspeed protection system for the turbine. It also monitors the operation of the primary control and can trip the backup trip relays on the TREA terminal board if a problem is detected.

·Six speed inputs (configured as three sets of speed pairs) for firmware overspeed, acceleration, deceleration, and a hardware implemented overspeed protection
·Monitors the operation of the primary control through a comprehensive set of feedback signals
·Trips the backup trip relays on the TREA board and activates a trip on the primary control if a problem is detected
·Fully independent of and unaffected by the primary control operation
·Dual 100MB full-duplex Ethernet ports for IONet communications with the control modules
