The GE IS215VPROHIB is a VMEbus Module Electronics Protection Assembly board used in the Mark VI Turbine Control System. It is also referred to as the VPRO board.

The VPRO board provides an independent emergency overspeed protection system for the turbine. It consists of three redundant boards that are housed in a separate module from the turbine control system. The VPRO boards communicate with the control modules via an Ethernet connection.

The VPRO board has the following features:

·Emergency overspeed protection
·Emergency stop functions
·12 relays that can be used to control the trip solenoids
·Ethernet connection for IONet communications with the control modules

The VPRO board is installed in the VME I/O processor rack. The board is inserted into the rack and the edge connectors are seated. The captive screws on the front panel are then tightened. The VME rack is then powered up and the diagnostic lights at the top of the front panel are checked.
